An interview with Devlon from 'A Witch's Dream World'
by Cheryllynn Dyess

Meeting in the Starbucks where he first saw Elizabeth Fairbairn.
Devlon: I see the reporter arrive. She is comfortable with her work. You can tell by the way she carries herself.  I am sitting waiting on her when she arrives. I always come before a meeting to check out the scene. She is casually dressed which is good considering I dressed down today. Her long black hair reminds me of many in the coven. She is attractive at least.
Reporter: Good morning Devlon. I reach my hand to him to shake and he just nods at me. He has already ordered his coffee and has been waiting for me. His ice blue eyes, blonde hair and very deeply tanned skin is not what I was expecting, but then again I do not meet a witch every day for an interview so I really had no idea what to expect.  He is dressed in casual jeans and a dark blue Polo style shirt with a pair of Sperry's.
Devlon:  I am Devlon Neilson of the ancient family.
Reporter: Devlon tell me, how is it that you knew where to meet Elizabeth that first day? I waste no time and get straight to the interview.
Devlon: Looking around, he casually takes in every person in the café, sitting himself taller in the chair. A small smile appears and his begin to twinkle. Elizabeth is a strong witch and can be tracked telepathically, of course she does not realize that all the time. She is beautiful is she not? She is to be my mate. He says exuding confidence.
Reporter:  Your mate, oh you mean lover? It would seem Elizabeth has decided to accept an elven mate, Wesley if I am correct?
Devlon:  She does not know what she is doing! She is new to our world and has yet to understand that the true mates of witches must happen!  His voice begins to rise with anger. We have hit a nerve.
Reporter:  I see, well she seems to have chosen. I raise my hands to calm him, huffing in anger he sits back into the chair. His confidence has been ruffled.  Tell me about your future. Your plans.  A slow glance to me, his eyes narrow as if determining trust or intent. He leans forward with elbows on knees, hands folded under chin, his face free of emotion.
Devlon:  My future is to take over the Witch's Council and one day the Haven Council. My future is to be the mate of Elizabeth, her father has approved.
Reporter:  Elizabeth is a powerful witch, you said so yourself. She has many gifts. How do you intend to overtake the two councils with her by their side? Obviously annoyed by my questions, he turns his attention to his coffee. He is ignoring me.
Devlon:  I am a powerful witch. I have the gift of telepathy. No, I am not as strong as Elizabeth but the truth is if she had not chosen that elf, she would be my mate. Her ability to manage her skills are truly above all others.  Overtaking the council will happen, the plans set in motion. Do you have any questions of worth today?
Reporter: Sitting back in my chair I take a moment to access him. He loves Elizabeth. He feels strongly about defeating the councils…and yet, the idea of Elizabeth with Wesley ruffles him easily.  Elizabeth has proven at least twice now that she is the stronger witch. How can you dare to think you are better? I purposefully antagonize.
Devlon: We are done here. She has only proven her strength. I have not been defeated yet. Picking up his coffee he walks out of the café rounds the corner and is gone.
Reporter: Devlon is strong. I can feel his anger and desire rolling off of him. His obsession with Elizabeth will be his downfall.
